Asperger's Syndrome Concerns

Asperger's syndrome (AS) or Asperger's disorder (AD) is a pervasive developmental disorder characterized by a conjuncture of symptoms such as: qualitative impairment of social interaction, repetitive or stereotypical behaviour, activities and interests, physical clumsiness. To be noted that unlike autism, Asperger's does not affect the normal cognitive and language development of the patient.

Other theories suggest that AS can result from prenatal exposure to agents that cause birth defects.

The first symptom of children suffering from AS is impaired social interaction. Specifically, their social behavior has been characterized as "active but odd". While people with AS may cognitively understand the concept of emotion or empathy, being able to theorize and accept them as facts, they will still not be able to show them in a social context. As a result they might come off as rude, insensitive, indifferent or annoying, although willing to engage and talk. Some children manifest what is known as "selective mutism" when they will speak only to the individuals they like or want to, while remaining perfectly silent in the presence of others.

By the age of 5 or 6, a child suffering from AS will start displaying an unusually focused interest in some activity or field of knowledge, easily memorizing detailed information or data about a narrow subject. About the Means Test and Bankruptcy Alternatives

There is a new term that is terrorizing a lot of debtors right now: the means test. This is a compulsory test that you have to take prior to filing for bankruptcy. While it is not really a sit down and write-on-paper type of exam, it does analyze your capabilities financially. This was created to limit the Chapter 7 filings to those who really cannot afford to pay even a small portion of their debts.

It was noted that some high income earners filed for bankruptcy despite having the income to pay off their debts. It may not be enough to cover for the minimum payment but an amount can still be pooled in to pay for what was owed.

The means test begins by looking at the type of debt that you have. If it is a consumer debt, you are required to take it. The second phase involves checking your total income. If you are below the median income of the State where you filed for bankruptcy, you pass the means test immediately. But if it is above that, you need to do some further calculations.

For those who earn more than the median income, you need to deduct your monthly expenses from the average income that you earned for the past 6 months. The difference is called the disposable income that you can set aside for your debts on a monthly basis. The higher the amount, the less chances that you will be allowed to file for Chapter 7. When this happens, you have no choice but to file for Chapter 13.

There is an "allowed" list of expenses that you are permitted to deduct from your income. If your expenses include an exclusive membership or maintenance costs for a luxury car or yacht, that may not be considered an "allowed" expense.

There are cases, however, when the person has a high income but is allowed to file the Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This is when their disposable income is below the set amount.

But even though you pass the means test and you have the chance to wipe away all your debts and avoid the default on your mortgage payments, consider the various bankruptcy alternative first. Of course, if you fail and you are limited to a Chapter 13 filing, then it is more vital that you consider other debt relief options.

If you will be tasked to pay a portion of your debts, you can look into debt settlement. While the amount that you have to pay may be higher than that of a Chapter 13 repayment term, you don't suffer as much credit consequence in the process.

Debt settlement involves negotiating with your creditors/collectors to accept a reduction in your outstanding balance. It seeks to lower the amount so your payment terms will be reduced as well. Salad with Peanut Sauce

You will need: Lettuce, cut into 2-inch length 1 medium sized cucumber, sliced 1 medium sized tomato, sliced 2 Hard boiled eggs, sliced 1 cup of roasted peanuts, grounded 4 tablespoon of chili sauce 2 tablespoon of tomato ketchup ½ cup of hot water

Steps: Plate the vegetables and hard boiled eggs in a circular pattern, in this recommended order: Lettuce as the bottom first layer, then the cucumber followed by the sliced tomato and lastly the hard boiled eggs on top. Set aside.

Put the grounded peanuts in a deep bowl. Add the hot water and still well, ensuring that all the clumps are dissolved. Then add in the tomato ketchup and chili sauce. Stir until well combined. If you like more heat in the sauce, add more chili sauce. Drizzle the peanut sauce generously on the salad.

The ingredients in this recipe can be easily substituted and varied to suit your personal preference. For example, use baby cucumbers which are juicer and sweeter. Or add in some sliced boiled potatoes to make this salad a light meal.

In this day and age where the average employee only works at a company for 2 to 3 years, and then goes and seeks other employment, or unfortunately due to the changes in the business cycle, or disruptive technologies in the industry, the company lets them go. Because of this they take a lot of intellectual capital with them. They take their knowledge, know-how, all their training, observations, and experiences and go to the next company. Often that other company turns out to be a competitor, or a vendor in the industry working with competitors.

Suffice it to say, "loose lips sink ships," and the amount of intellectual capital that a company loses due to the turnover in employees is rather significant. When a company cuts staff, they are looking for increasing shareholder's equity, profits, and trimming the fat, reducing expenses temporarily to ensure that their stock price has decent performance, and they meet their numbers for the next quarter.

What To Do When It Rains

I have always loved the rain. Whenever it rains, I always remember stories.

The rain reminds me of the enlightening fairy tales and folk tales, like the turtle thrown into the water, the gremlins that multiply, Gulliver's travels, Little Mermaid, and more fiction.

The rain, as well, gives me reminders of inspirational stories from the Bible like the story of Moses and of Noah's ark.

The rain is power for the unbeatable sea, honey for the arid fields, and moist for the earth to cool up and grow more harvests. But then, only God can give the rain and control it, so in whatever state of seasons lands would be, we'd pray to the God of all.

Recently, I left the house without an umbrella because the sky shone brightly. When I walked a few blocks away from the house, the sky poured rain. The drops were heavy and I got wet in the middle of the streets, near the Sacred Heart convent. I loved the rain, but I couldn't just play there and jump with applause, and so I rode a tricycle (a motorbike with a body for passengers). It was fun. That was the time I would get the image of the Sacred Heart from a house, and transfer it to the next recipient. Truly, how God knows I want to play with water, if so like a child.

When I was younger, I played paper boats when it's flooded around where I lived. And my mother, aunts and uncles, admonished me for going out the house and soaking my feet in the flood. How, I envied those kids who bathed and played outside the rain. I peeped for hours in the window, just to see those kids play with water outside the streets. They were so happy. Thank you dear God, for the rain.

And now that I am old, I can see that each life has its own purpose. In whatever, path we all go, courage, simplicity and charity will make us happy. Supporting each endeavor is necessary so we could attain and fulfill our goals in life. Kindness must be shared for the poor world.
